Asbestos Removal Operative

Job Summary
As an asbestos removal operative, you will be responsible for safely removing both licensed and non-licensed asbestos from refurbishment sites in line with relevant legalisation and the clients’ specific requirements.
Daily Responsibility
- Building bespoke containment enclosures around the asbestos-containing material
- Safely removing, and disposing of, asbestos from ceilings, walls, boilers and more
- Using a variety of specialist equipment including airless sprayers and injection equipment
- Wearing specialist protective equipment including coveralls and a full face mask
- Showering in a decontamination unit at the end of each shift
- Complete timesheets, job record sheets, weekly exposure registers, respirator checklists, and other relevant documentation and submit these on a weekly basis or earlier if necessary
- Working on industrial sites, in shops and offices, and people’s homes
Essential Skills
- Hold current, valid, and recognised Licensed Asbestos Removal Training
- Valid HSE Medical Certificate
- Face fit certificates for both Full and Half Face RPE
- Be able to work in a confidential manner
- Good communication skills
- Able to work within a team and be able to work alone
- Must be clean shaven due to Respiratory Protective Equipment worn
- Able to adapt and deal with changing priorities related to your own workload and those of the company
